pretty good

lost about about 5%. So, just an OK here. kept it off for the two months i was using. I work out intensely twice a week for 1/1/2 hours. no side effects whatsoever. May purchase again if it becomes cost effective. For what I was able to lose, the price is out of whack.

Keep Refrigerated!

So, I didn't buy this on Amazon, I got it on sale and with a $5 coupon at my local health food store. Actually, I bought four bottles...the coupon plus the sale made it a good deal and I was impressed by the study on perimenopausal women, since I am one. I would have to say that my results have been good. I eat a whole-food low glycemic load diet. Basically I eat a lot of vegetables, fruit, meat and dairy, and I eat almost no grain, sugar, potatoes, sweet potatoes or bananas. I stick to food with a medium or low glycemic load. Now, when I was 30 and I ate that way, I lost a lot of excess weight pretty steadily and easily. Now that I am 45, the first 10 pounds came off quick, and then I stalled. After a month of no weight loss, I started taking these and my weight started creeping down again.Anyone who takes these should be aware that the fucoxanthin doesn't start working until it builds up to an effective level in your fat cells, which takes about 6 weeks of steady supplementation. I don't know if the same is true of the green coffee extract or not...maybe not, since these seemed to help me start losing weight again pretty quickly. I'd say it only took about two weeks for me to notice the scale start to drop again. However, to get any results from the expensive fucoxanthin you're buying here you need to keep taking this for at least a few months.So, why only 4 stars? Actually, I considered giving only 3. The big problem I have had with these is spoilage. They seem to be formulated without any kind of oxidation protection. One of the bottles I got smelled rancid right off the shelf (as soon as I opened it I noticed.) The others seemed ok, but sitting on my kitchen counter, they gradually started smelling rancid too. The bottle says keep cool. I think that is not correct...I think this product is extremely susceptible to spoilage and should be kept refrigerated at all times, including in the warehouse and preferably when shipping to the store or distribution center. It only takes one day of high temperatures and the whole bottle is rancid, smells disgusting, and is basically garbage. I think the manufacturer should be adding an anti-oxidant, such as vitamin E, to the caps, or using coconut oil or another oil that resists oxidation rather than the pomegranate seed oil. Frankly, I'm not sure what the pomegranate seed oil is for (I haven't researched it) but I do know that fucoxanthin should be taken with medium-chain fatty acids to improve absorption and uptake from the digestive system. The only good source for medium chain fatty acids that I know of is coconut oil, so I always make sure to eat a little bit of it when I take these.Right now I am trying to find a source of fucoxanthin supplement that DOESN'T have pomegranate seed and soy or whatever oils in it...just a dry extract that I can supplement with a teaspoon of my own extra virgin coconut oil. There is nothing more disgusting than a rancid oil filled capsule.

I do exercise (spin class, yoga, body classes) and I do try to watch portions, but I still have a belly. I have notice a difference in in belly since taking these supplements, I'm not so bloated. Even one of my clients noticed. I would definitely recommend them and I am going to keep taking them!
