Blood sugar benefits from Phase II

A year ago I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. I am 5-10 and weighed 187 pounds at the time and my A1C was at 7.4. I did not want to start the medication my doctor prescribed just yet, I wanted a chance to get my blood sugar in check with lifestyle changes first. So I started to lose weight, exercise more and count carbs. My blood sugar readings after meals were still on the high side, and I found cutting down carbs was tough on me emotionally, as well. I was hungry a lot and not able to eat my favorite foods or enjoy dining out with my wife and friends.I decided to try carb blockers by Source Naturals, as I have found good success using their cherry extract pills to help control my gout.This product has worked wonders for me with very few side effects. I take two pills about 3-5 minutes before I start eating and my blood sugar readings after these meals are well within normal range. The difference between eating the same meal with and without these pills is night and day! I keep some at home and some in a container in my car for when I am dining out. I still cannot eat carbs like I used to, but I am enjoying some of my favorite foods again in moderation without worrying about blood-sugar spikes, and I find that going out to eat is no longer a stressful ordeal. Emotionally, I feel like I am no longer as restricted in what I eat and it has made me much happier.Nine months after my diagnosis, I am down to about 160 pounds and my A1C dropped to 6.0. My doctor told me if I maintain this level for my A1C I would not need medication.I am not touting this as a cure-all for Type II diabetes or saying you should not listen to your doctor or not take prescription meds. I am saying that in my personal battle to get my blood sugar under control, this product and brand was one thing that helped me achieve those goals and made a positive impact on my emotional and physical well being. I still count carbs and watch what I eat, but for now I am not on medication and don't have to completely eliminate my favorite foods.

I purchased these after watching Dr. Oz one day. The chewable wafers taste good (kind of orangy, I guess) and actually worked for me. I can control my carb intake, but I'd rather not have to all the time, so these gave me some leeway.

This works to an extent, but a discontinued product called Natrol Carb. works bettr. I think it had a higher level of white bean extract.
