Mixes well, tastes great, controls appetite and has the vitamins as well.

I was so excited after reading the reviews about using this product. I have a hard time with getting hungry while dieting and needing something NOW! :) This is something that makes it really easy to grab and go. My friend turned me on to these after losing over 30 pounds since January of this year.I have been taking green tea extract and raspberry ketones along with it, also recommended by her, Green Tea Extract 60 Capsules (500mg) + FREE 25 Grams Raspberry Ketones Powder. I think when you're on a strict diet, it helps to take some kind of supplement that speeds up the amount of calories/fat you burn per day.I will give credit where credit is due, though. I don't regret getting this shake at all. I use it when I'm on the fly for my lunches and it's worth not having to worry about taking the extra time to fix something super healthy and not feeling guilty about eating out last minute.

BEWARE- Honest review of Visalus shakes

I recently came across Visalus through an acquaintance and decided that I would try the product and give it the benefit of the doubt. FIrst let me preface this review with a little about myself so that you see where I am coming from.About 10 years ago I was very overweight, and through making healthy food changes, exercising more and being more aware of food I was able to lose 55 pounds and to gain muscle,become physically fit and I became a fitness instructor. I have kept the weight off for the last 10-12 years with no problems, with a combination of healthy eating and working out.In the last 2 years or so I have been working towards trying to get rid another 8-10 pounds or so. I have tried MANY diet plans/eating plans/programs and decided to try Visalus, because it seemed simple.I didn't buy the most expensive kit, as I only want to lose a little more, so I bought the shakes and VI control drink. What this means is that I had a shake for breakfast and another for lunch, a well balanced dinner, 2 healthy snacks, and before the end of the day I would mix the VI control drink powder ( to suppress my appetite) with juice or water and drink that.After 2 and a half months on the program and following it to a "T", ( using their weekly food plans, weekly work out schedule, and any other "tools" they had on their website etc) I lost only 1-2 pounds !!!! I was very very disappointed and quite upset that I had paid so much for their product and IT DIDN'T WORK !!!! THe claims of the product make it sound like I would have NO PROBLEM losing any amount of weight. I had read reviews before starting the program but obviously not enough. I have read far more reviews and information lately and I have oticed that all the reviews and success stories are from people who either had lap band surgery before the program, or they were quite overweight, and I didn't see that many reviews/success stories from people who only had less than 10 pounds or so to lose. I read through the many reviews of the ingredient listings ( by medical doctors) and discovered that the shakes are not any more beneficial than say a Slim Fast shake or some other protein shake. The nutrient breakdown is very similar to that of a very good multivitamin!So I went back to the rep that I had bought my shakes through, and as I asked more questions, the email responses got shorter and shorter, but there were reminders that if I kept doing it and referred other people I could continue the product for free !! Now why would I continue it for free, if it didn't work for me and why would I want to drag people into something that I can't honestly recommend because I didn't see results? Yes I realize that we all have different body types, I realize that there could be other factors as to why the shakes didn't work. However as someone who has spent the last 10 years of my life improving my physical and mental health, I am very doubtful that a liquid shake is going to provide me with all the nutrition that I need and keep me full all day long. I was hungry on this program, and apparently that is normal! But I stuck to it, because I had read all these "supposed" success stories.I am not even interested in the money making aspect of it, I am more concerned that this program is going to fail for more people because it doesn't provide the nutrition they need, or worse yet, they will lose some weight and then gain it back once they go back to eating properly. Because we can't drink shakes for our meals for the rest of our lives! It's just not healthy!Everybody is entitled to review and state an opinion, this is true and allows for all of us to become more informed about the world and what goes on it. I would not recomment this product to anybody. I truly believe there is no quick way to lose weight and keep it off. We all have different bodies, we all have different needs, we all need to become informed and do what makes our own bodies healthy,according to how it makes us feel. Not according to all the millions of products out there that claim that they will make us lose weight and become healthy and happy. You are the only one who can make the best decisions for your body and health. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this product to really really learn and read up on it, before committing to any of it. It is expensive, It is NOT always successful and it can do you more harm than good.

Tastes Like a Cake Mix?

It may smell like a cake mix, but it certainly doesn't taste like one. However, it is less offensive than some shake mixes. Next time, I'll order the HMR Shakes. Those are fairly tasty and in the same price range.Update!Taste may depend a lot on how you prepare this. The packaging says you can prepare with 8-12 ounces of skim milk. I have been using 12 ounces. I cut back from 12 ounces to 8 ounces, reduced amount of ice used and used the strawberry add-in, and it is quite tasty. I think I was making it too thin. Was not impressed with the banana or chocolate add-ins. I'm thinking this might be very good with some real fruit mixed in for a breakfast smoothie. ViSalus, you may win me over yet.
