I have become interested in nootropics lately and found Liftmode through a recommendation through a fitness newsletter. I began researching the different ones and first decided to try Hordenine along with L-theanine, along with some coffee (for the caffeine) as what I was looking to achieve was a greater focus effect without stimulation. I am quite sensitive to stimulants and do not like the feeling of anxiousness that comes when I reach a certain level - the nervous, something is wrong kind of feeling.And so I tried the hordenine with coffee and it certainly provides a stronger effect than just the caffeine alone. However, I couldn't concentrate too well, and my focus tended to drift into other areas.The magic happened when I combined this with L-theanine. I found myself working on the computer, doing schoolwork/calculations first and then doing menial tasks like paying bills which I don't particularly enjoy. With the combo, I felt relaxed, focused, and quite content doing these things. I was really surprised. This happened with one cup of coffee, 50 mg. Hordenine and 200 mg. L-theanine.I've learned too that one can blunt the anxiety effects of stimulants by providing the brain with enough glucose. Having a banana, some complex starch, or even a tablespoon of honey goes a long way to give the brain some fuel when low on reserves. I know some people are into using fats for ketones, but if prone to anxiety, the glucose substrates tend to work alot better because it blunts glucocorticoid release from the adrenals.Nootropics are very interesting, and I believe they are going to be more well studied and used in clinical applications down the road, from anything mood/focus/concentration related. I personally feel they are much better for you than drugs. Combine them with a choline supplement and a good diet, and the brain is in a much better place. Used in conjunction with PEA

I suspect most people interested in hordenine are seeking to maximize their PEA experience, which I would advise against for reasons I went into on my PEA review. That being said hordenine on its own is a mild mao-b substrate and acts as a CNS stimulant. If you're used to playing with your norepineephrine system with things like ADHD medications, caffeine, or yohimbine you know basically what to expect.

I have suffered from ADHD throughout my life. And as I prefer not to use prescription strength stimulants to treat my affliction so I look for natural alternatives. Since Hordenine is a mild central nervous stimulant I decided to try it. What else can I say except it really does help relieve the symptoms. Especially when mixed with coffee.Sincerely,John R.
