Green coffee bean has strong anti-oxidant properties similar to other natural anti-oxidants like green tea and grape seed extract. Not sure what is in this product

I became interested in this product after hearing about Dr. Oz giving glowing reviews of Green Coffee Bean Extract. Found an article he posted on a website with the comment in his writings that "Bitter is better" regarding the extract. I did some more research and found that the true extract is very bitter tasting. Unfortunately I also found warnings and complaints that some people were receiving from various companies what was supposed to be the Green Coffee Bean Extract but turned out to be sweet cocoa in a capsule.So I thought, well, I'll make sure I only buy a Standardized one as that should guarantee that it's authentic (I wish)! This brand says on the label that it's standardized, so I was hopeful. When I received this product, a bottle was partially opened (damaged in shipping?) so I examined that one and saw a broken capsule inside with brown, not amber/yellow powder (the real thing is supposedly not brown in color). In checking the powder that was loose in the bottle, I noticed that it smelled and tasted like sweet cocoa!Checking the ingredients on the label, I find no mention of sweeteners or cocoa added to the product, leaving me to wonder and worry as to what really is in these capsules I received. I have never seen a mention of genuine Green Coffee Bean Extract looking and smelling like cocoa powder.I contacted Amazon.com and told them what I wrote here when I returned the product (also was not happy that it was received open/damaged). I see it is still being sold, so I have two words for that: buyer beware!

I rarely write a negative review on a product or service. But when I see something as egregious as this, I must act.ConsumerLab.com, a subscription service I pay for that tests supplements and is quoted by other respected testing organizations, reports no CGAs and no 5-CQA were found in the Nutri-Fusion green coffee extract capsules. Nothing. Essentially worthless. Explains why I and my adult son saw no results, except for lighter wallets.This is shameful and inexcusable.I expect a refund of our purchases.

I'm returning this ASAP. The other reviewer was right- I opened up a capsule and put the contents on my tongue. Not too different from Nestle Qwik! This is not what green coffee bean extract is supposed to taste like, and nothing in the ingredients indicate it has been sweetened. Pretty sure this is just plain fake. Save yourself the trouble and buy the real deal- any of the products with hundreds of good reviews instead of this.
